Drove to Kelowna to see
how the pheasant work
was progressing.
Examined McKay + Munson
sloughs + saw on them
many broods of Redhead +
blue-winged teal as well as
numbers of mallard + pintail.
Benson reported that Calliope
+ black-chinned hummers [hummingbirds]
had been abundant along the
irrigation ditch during the
3rd [third] + 4th [fourth] weeks of July when
the wild holyhock [hollyhock] was in
flower.

Spent the day on the
ponds on the commonage.

Pintail:- 9.
Mallard 45.
Blue-winged teal broods of
7, 6, 5, 6 + groups of
adults totalling more than 30.
A pair of Lesser scaup.
Redhead broods of 5 (2), 7 (2), + 3 (2)
Shovellor brood of 9 (3).
Ruddy. broods of 4 (2), 5 (2) + 3
alone.
