- "phiz", a very good reprint could be made. Joe Watson is standing between us, with Charlie Lundy on the seat. I might add that I do not wear a gold stripe up here, although I am supposed to. Why? Well, just because, that’s all, Eddie Wright wasn’t with us the morning we had the picture taken, so I sm unable to give you the pleasure of seeing his handsome face,
I think I’ve shot my bolt this trip. To be continued in our
next.
As ever.
Yours lovingly,

Howdy folks, -
Have several hours to put in before hitting the hay, and having already torn offtwo letters, fell that I am in the right mood to continue my serial story. Have just invested in a new pad,and
have sharpened the indelible pencil you sent in the last parcel,so
I ought not run out of material for a few hours. All ready? Let her go then.
Seemingly we were all reluctant to leave our comfortable beds the second morning for it was nearly eleven when we wandered into Kaxevilles in search of a substantial breakfast. We got it too, after an English speaking waiter had gone into executive session with the head waiter. We all started off with a
melon glace, as cantelopes are called over here. Next came the "or durve" - it is not spelt thatway but that is how it i‘s pronounced - a collection of five plates containing specimens of potato salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes and salt fish, the latter apparently being provided to give one a thirst. This "or durve" is in evidence at every meal and is the most useful article on the menu, for it gives one time to puzzle out what he wants next. You see we didn't want to make the mistake one of our fellows did - who not being able to read a word of French, went into one of the larger cafes, picked up the menu, looked at it as though he understood what it was ell about, then seeing the waiter hovering anxiously about him, beckoned to him and pointed to two items near the top of the menu. After b,wait of ten minutes up came two portions of soup. He downed them under the reproachful g&ze of the "gercon", then being desparate, and anxious to get away, stabbed his finger at a line
