- West Coast (contd [continued])
April 20/41 [1941] were collected. Must be one year
old. Measurements of total length as follows -
60 (mutilated) 45 (left foreleg missing)
71 44 (both hind legs missing)
66 48
64 50
Under rotting log a large Plethodon [underlined] [woodland salamander]
was found and beneath bark of an old
stump an Aneides [salamander] was collected. No
Ambystoma [mole salamander] adults were seen though
they must be very common.
Stoneflies [underlined] were collected as adults
at stream where we lunched.
Many egg masses of Ambystoma [underlined] [mole salamander] (mentioned
above) were partly exposed, suggesting
that they were laid when the water level was higher.
