  • Received a long letter from Mar j ori© several days ago, and must get lousy soon and answer it. She makes no mention of any terrible time, in fact writes rather to the contrary. But then she is probably like the rest of the tribe— keeps her troubles to herself. - 292 - My leave is still at the A.L.M.S., but when it comes in to our orderly room, I’m going to hit the 0,C0 up to be allowed to get away the day after Xmas. The ..leave I understand, is dated from the 28th, so if I could get away on the 26th, it would help a whole lot. Feeling better today though, so will endeavor to tear off a few lines. Everything considered, our third- end I sincerely trust, last- Xmas in this country passed off in fine style. We had a dandy spread-- the menu I sent today will convince you of that-- end an impromptuu concert 'after. But the old unit is not the same any more, and we old-timers missed a good many femiliar faces yesterday. You’ll be delighted to hear that we are to move back to the Lille area in a few days. We were to have started our march tomorrow', but it has been postponed several days-- weather too good I suppose. I have it on good auth-oosity- Pte. S. May- that we'll all be in Blighty inside of six weeks, and I have a hunch that he
