- Bufo boreas [toad]
June 30/42 [1942]
Toads were present in the form
of larvae in large numbers in Anthony
Lake (116 M. [mile] Rd).
Here they were seeen in the typical
swarms and strings in shallows and
also as individuals in all parts
of the lake. Water was of brownish
colour, which possibly affected their
behaviour.
Small adults were also seen.

sized toads were seen along San
Jose River which runs from Lac la Hache to 130 Mile lake.
July 2 [1942] - Many tadpoles, well-developed, were
seen in 103 Mile lake.
July 3 [1942] - One specimen, largest yet seen, was
caught in mouse trap along 122 Mile Creek,
Forbes.
July 5 [1942] - Another fair-sized toad caught in traps
as above. Three quite large ones were seen
