  • Journal Jasper, Alta. [Alberta] May 14, 1946. In morning we ran our traps + took + tagged the first coyote in the Moberly Flats set. Found a wounded eagle feeding on set 3 + caught it by hand. In afternoon went shopping + then ran line again in evening. Jasper [word crossed out] Sheep 14 [female symbol] 9 l. [lambs] 3 [male symbol] = 26 deer 11 1 f [fawn] 3 [male symbol] = 15 elk 23 [female symbol] 8 c. [calves] 1 [male symbol] = 32 Jasper. May 15, 1946. Drove to Celestine Lake looking at our sets + placing another en route. On our way saw + shot a [female symbol] Mt [Mountain] Lion. Got back at 7:30 39 13 7 Census:- Sheep 21 [female symbol] 13 l [lambs] 3 [male symbol] elk 18 [female symbol], 1 c [calf] 2 [male symbol] deer. 6 [female symbol] 2 f. [fawns] 13 [male symbol] Jasper May 16, 1946. This morning ran our line returning at 3' o'clock to get mail, gas + some eatables. In evening took Frank Wells + his dogs to see if we could pick up an animal that pulled loose with a trap but no luck.
