  • Sat. Nov 21 Surprising £143 from Germany. To Bank to fix up sending £100 in L's name to Short's bank at 216 Church Road Hove, & for them to inform him of the transfer via Consul Barcelona, via Foreign Office. This effected. Visited John, much better. Rang up Foreign Office, W. Pollock, who will let Short know by telegram. Bought Honor copper coal-scuttle, 17/6; & tartan egg-boiler 2/6. Norman & Betty to lunch, then Laura & Norman did Rimbaud together. Boil still troublesome, but feeling very well in myself. Franco refuses neutral zone at Barcelona. Cheers for Russia in Madame T's news cinema when help for Spain proposed. To Josef's in Gk street with Laura Norman, Karl. L & N to see John. Karl & I to news film (Great Gable film etc) Laura Norm
