Beryl Alan & I went to Montauban with the Petrole tins and & I had a hair cut & played billiards with Alan. There seems a great political change going on: we all feel something cracking. Sally writes that war is very near: but this makes no real sense. Laura wrote today about reservations on boats to America. Laura now says I am a Fortaskew. Alan
