• Sep 7 Tuesday. Dictated a letter to Strenge. Laura in bed most of morning: then Karl announced (what we had long suspected) that he & * Marie were in love with each other: & proposed to marry. All right with us. 12 pages of Belisarius . Chapter 8. Usual daily walk from Cranleigh, after bus. there. Worked over part of chapter 1 of Swiss Ghost with Laura who has been writing the Int.Lett. recommendation to do with sex.
