  • Feb 28 Tuesday Laura said: 'I write so well anyone might mistake me for a hypocrite.' Another joke about Marie's young man 'M.Salsafie' (corruption of Ça suffit ) She borrowed nine francs to buy a Pris Unic hair comb: then more money. Laura asked: 'another comb?' Leonie said that there were two M.Salsifies who alternately waited for Marie on her days out. Laura said. That 'Ah, that's why she wanted two combs.' Another: Laura asked me 'Have you no place for unanswered letters?' “Yes, a beautiful place.” “Then why do I find odd letters tucked away in books?” “Because you look in the wrong books.” Heavy cold starting. * French British recognise Franco [figure – a bracket } links "French" and "British" indicating both recognise Franco]
