The Daily Colonist, April 11, 1917, front page

The front page of The Daily Colonist which refers to British advances on the Hindenberg Line, the line of German defenses in Northeastern France. On April 9, 1917 the Canadian Corps attacked Vimy Ridge, a key position on the Hindenberg Line. By April 12, 1917 the military objectives had been met, but at a heavy price in casualties.
