- Sept 4th Saturday 6 pages & going over revision of Smuggler . Letters. Allen, tailors, promise restitution for trousers worn out too soon. Bus to Cranleigh & returned. The best day this summer. Laura working on letter book I am feeling really well again. It has not rained for weeks & the ground, which is clay, is all cracks: I lost an arrow head in one of them. Solace the kitten was given a collar with a bell; caught a huge mouse & chased it round the sitting room for hours. (The bell was off temporarily). Talked with Laura about the 'emancipation of possessions'.
