  • Saturday, Nov 7th Boil a bit troublesome as a result of last night's walk. Laura to Bow Street for Alien registration; Karl to Oxford to stay with Allen for a night; I to Dorland Hall Book Exhibition & then to Constable to suggest better S.Z.P. display. (Brandy & soda with Kyllmann at a pub) * Catherine for her half term. Went with her to Dodsworth film, then to supper at España in Wardour St. Sad Catalan: “ Moros a la costa – no al Capital.” Italian fascist at next table. Then to Kermesse Héroique . French but good (Confessor, dwarf, duke, Burgomester Burgomaster 's wife) & Pavlova in a historical survey of her dances. Jenny gave me a silver brooch made of minute dials of watches, & to L an engagement book.
