It's a Long Way to Tipperary, by Jack Judge and Harry Williams
PublicThe cover and first page of It's a Long Way to Tipperary - Sung by the Soldiers of the King, by Jack Judge and Harry Williams. Jack Judge, was a musical hall entertainer and composer. The song was composed in 1912 when someone challenged him with a bet that he could not write a new composition in one day. As a result "It's a long way to Tipperary" was created. It became popular with the British soldiers and in November 1914 it was recorded by John McCormack. This recording helped to make it one of the most popular songs of the time.
