Glastonbury Tor from Collard Hill
A watercolor painting of Glastonbury Tor from Collard Hill. the paining features a Japanese inscription and stamp in black and red paint located in the lower right corner. Approximately half of the upper portion of the painting depicts sky, while the Tor is featured in the mid-ground and trees populate the foreground. While the back of the painting has been written upon in pencil by Katharine Maltwood, it is likely that the painting itself was created by her cousin the Anglo-Japanese painter, Elizabeth Yeend Duer, due to the presence of Japanese characters. Handwritten in pencil on the verso: "Glastonbury Tor from Collard Hill. The King of Castle Mortal "wared" upon the Tor.
