Sept [September] 29/52 Suomo - Finland - on Suomunjarri
Breakfast this morning consisted of Rye bread
+ butter + tea. Lunch - smors [smorgorsbord] of salt herring
+ sliced onion, followed by a thick soup of meat +
potatos [potatoes], then oatmeal porridge for dessert.
Supper, salt herring again, then mashed
potatoes + sliced meat in gravy. Dessert was
a fruit jel mixture
After breakfast this morning a group of
3 men from the land drainage department
arrived + we all went across the lake
by boat + looked over a site for a goose
management experiment. It is planned to try
to re establish the greylag here after an
absence of some 10 years. A small area of
wet muskeg leading from a lakelet of
2-3 acres is to be drained by ditching +
