Conversations:- Braznet has seen approx. [approximately] 150
head at the Hot Springs + 21 where I saw
the 7 head on the road. He has counted
as high as 300 head on Tunnel Mt [Mountain] slopes.
Jack Hargreaves says that some
of the biggest sheep seen have been
south + west of the Snake Indian,
that the Blue Creek sheep seldom get
large. That there are some very
large sheep (he showed me photos) on
the Smoky. He showed me photos of
2 heads from Wapiti Pass + states that
the sheep there were very dark in
color with horn bases of about 14
inches of 37" heads. They had long
hair around the horns. Faces are dark
except for white tip of muzzle.
Licks:- Photographed sheep at an earth lik [lick]
near the Hot Springs.

Found fragments of a dead lamb -
no indication of cause of death.

Census:- Between Devona + the western slope
of Tunnel mountain counted 143 sheep.
51 [male symbol] [underlined] of these 8 young = 2 of 2 1 of 3 others undet. [undetermined]
all rest 6 years + over
42 [female symbol] 8 lambs.
Condition:- All but one old male in good
condition. That one was poor.
