- Ovis canadensis [underlined]
cornered bunting match with first
the opposing pairs taking turns in
bunting one another + then squaring
off in the other direction. This
in mid afternoon in bright sunshine
Food:- This bit of range is very heavily
grazed by the 52 sheep + 9 or more
goat seen on it. The addition
of elk may well effect the
ability of these sheep to survive.
Numbers:- At Brazeau L. [Lake] [illegible word] Marie counted
at one time this winter 1944-45) 85 head + others were on
the slides around toward the lake
Down at Isaac Cr. [Creek] he went up river
then swung west + south + in the
basins there counted 125 sheep. Others
were known to be present on the
alplands between Isaac + the Southesk
Jasper. May 12/45 [1945]
On Ashlar Ridge counted 1 [male symbol] 7 [female symbol] 1 lamb
No sheep down at Hot Springs.
Radium, B.C. [British Columbia] May 17/45 [1945]
Meredith reports sheep increasing
estimates 40 +/- head now ini the
band.
Warden counted several head on
Hawk ridge at head of Hawk Creek
in summer of 1944 + saw others
at head of Tokumm Creek.
