July 9/43 [1943].
Parasites etc. [etcetera][underlined]
In abomasum [underlined] were numbers of
small worms, some colorless others
dark, beneath the mucosa.
Moniezia? one large one in small
intestine.
Cysticercus [underlined]. One an omentum
and a hard small egg shaped nodule
close by.
Lungs [underlined]: with many consolidated
hard yellowish white areas
near tips of long lobes.
but no worms could be found.
Teeth [underlined]:- badly worn but [word crossed out] +
one jaw shows signs of an
old infection.
Food:- Stomach contents mostly
grass + vetch (pink).
Census:- band consisted of 3 yearlings
12 ewes + 5 lambs. There was
a great variation in size of these
lambs. Some almost twice the size
of others and apparently born in May.
These were grazing a little.
Moult:- Dry ewe shot was largely
moulted yearlings still had much
winter hair.
Indianhead Cabin, Clearwater R. [River] July 10/43 [1943]
Saw a single ewe W [west] of Peters Cr. [Creek] near
head.
