- Canis latrans [underlined]
The coyotes were noted on one evening
heading for the foothills, he saw
9 to 12 + heard many others, they seemed
wildly excited + yapped continuously.
From his high cottage with a 35 X
scope he can watch the game on
the adjacent winter range in the
park. There had been many head of
sheep + deer. Next morning he could
see none + 14 to 16 large bloody
patches on the visible hillside
evinced kills of sheep or deer
in that one night of heavy crust.
All the game had been driven to
rim rock or killed.
Under such conditions he finds
coyotes destructive.
