Got up at 4 AM and went out
to Henry House. No sign of the
grizzly - went down the road as
far as Talbot Lake - scaups still
on territory there.
In evening watched the elk
carcases + saw + missed a coyote
at each.
Counted 63 elk with 15 calves
5 sheep 4 miles west.
2 coyote
1 brown bear.
Jasper June 24/44 [1944]
Had to drive down to Bow Lake
to talk over new troubles with
[James (Jim)] Simpson. Saw not a single head
of game on the trip down.

Left Bow Lake at 1 PM + arrived
here at 6:50.
Game seen sheep 29 including 1 lamb
