On Tyrrel Cr. [creek] Pass saw 2 fully ad [adult] bulls.
and 3 pr. [pairs] of shed antlers.
One bull was feeding on willow
when first seen.
Head of McConnell Cr. [creek] Aug [August] 18/45 [1945]
A great deal of winter moose sign up
to 7250' [feet]. Saw + Jim [Hatter] shot a large
bull. Antlers spread 48" [inches]
Wt [weight] of meat hide + guts 818 lbs [pounds]
Bones + skull.
Blood.
Digestive contents _______ [underlined space left blank]
This bull had several white
marks on the velvet of the antlers.
Tips of post. [posterior] points still soft.

Saw a very large bull on the summit.
Paradise Mine, B.C. Aug [August] 26/45 [1945]
At the Vermilion Lick in Kootenay Park
saw 2 cows. One urinated 5 times
in about an hour. When drinking
tilted its head up until nose was
not immersed.

Saw a yearling [female symbol] at the Vermilion
Lick. Note short bell on this animal
