Banff, Alta. [Alberta] June 8/44 [1944]
Saw 2 coyote on Bankhead road +
shot 1 - a [male symbol].
This animal had head + underparts
moulted but back + sides still bore
old fur.
Food: A few blades of grass in the
stomach + a small quantity of hair
in the colon was the only
sign of food. Hair saved.
Parasites:- One nematode in stomach
Meas. [measurements] on autopsy sheet 44-6-8
Weight 27 1/2 lbs. [pounds]

Saw 2 coyote on Healy Creek
road.
Stenton states that coyote this
winter have shown little sign of
mange.
Jasper. June 28/44. [1944]
Shot at two coyotes that came
to elk carcasses on June 23. Jim [Simpson]
shot one ([female symbol]) while I was in Vancouver
+ trapped another on the 24th.
One June 27 saw a dead mangy
coyote beside the road at mile 114
Probably killed by a car.
