three days in a bay between Ladner
+ Woodwards Landing by old pole line (east of flats) South side of River. Were seen

Nov. [November] 19. 1929. Pitt Meadows B.C. [British Columbia]
In company with EW Herwell duck
hunting. About 3 p.m. we saw a swan
flying towards the mountain to the east of
Pitt Lake in which locality a fair sized
lake is situated. The bird flew about
three gunshots distant + in the excellent
light we had a good view as it was only
about 30 to 40 yards in the air.
Information rccd [received] from Dr AG Naismith of W end of Alpha Lake. He had seen a
swan in a shore below Nita Lake B.C. [British Columbia] Investigated this + found
a trumpeter swan skin stuffed with straw + [illegible word]
badly chewed up by mice. Shipped it to Game Dept [Department]
Determined that is had been shot by a man named
John Jacks. Had borrowed a rifle from a "Gus" + shot
it on Nita Lake.
