Alta Lake BC [British Columbia]
6/26/24 [June 26, 1924] numerous from 6500' [feet] to 7000' [feet]
on eastern shoulders [spurs written above line] + mountains adjacent
to Mt Whistler. Breeding. One young bird
seen, the gray + white colouring harmonizing
exactly with the rock + moss amongst
which these birds breed. This young bird could
only fly a few feet + scared with approach
within a few inches. The parent birds bravely
flew at me + tried to drive us away.
Kamloops B.C. [British Columbia] April 1927. Many
great flocks were seen above the
town near golf links. Only remained
about for 10 days or a fortnight.
Aug. [August] 2/28 [1928] Mt. Whistler. Seen in many
places, usually from 6000 [feet] upwards on the
open rocky areas. Many were young birds
almost fully feathered. These collected.
