Watched a coyote stalking ground squirrels
in the buffalo corral. It walked
slowly forward without crouching
but seemed half hearted + was
unsuccessful. Walked right
among the buffalo which ignored it.

Saw a bob-tailed coyote about 2 miles
below windy cabin.
Food. Found where swan eaten by coyote
1 pellet 75% bearberry
25% microtus.
Ya ha Tinda Ranch. July 7/43 [1943]
Found a large old coyote dead.
[Warden Cliff] Murphy found another dead this
winter near a deer carcass. The
one I found died in April with
no obvious cause.
