Saw a yearling black eating Shepherdia berries Goat hunting:- [Frank] Borstrom [Burstrom] saw a black stalking goats on the slide here in Aug. [August] 1941. Blue Creek. Aug [August] 18/43 [1943] All the way from Shale Banks to here the ants nests have been torn open. Saw small bear tracks here. Hoodoo Cr. [Creek] Aug. [August] 23/43 [1943] Four years ago [Warden Bob] Jones + [Warden George] Folley had a large black bear chase a moose cow + calf right among the horses. Adolphus Lake. Aug. [August] 30/43 [1943] Saw a single track on the trail today. All along the trail from Blue Creek the bears have been working on the ants nests. Jasper. Sept. [September] 6/43. [1943] Bob Jones found a black bear eating a freshly killed young buck deer. 1 pellet 90% vegetation 10% Shepherdia 1 " [pellet] 100% Shepherdia berries.
