Saw 1 lone goat S [south] side head of Panther
yesterday evening.
Today in valley E [east] of Bare Mt [mountain] saw:-
1 probably [male symbol]
2 [female symbol] 2 kids 1 yearling.
10 [crossed out] 8 goat including at least 2 kids
but too far away to see clearly.
Food:- On Bare Mt [mountain] they had been
eating shrubby cinquefoil heavily.
Ya Ha Tinda Ranch July 7/43. [1943]
Saw 11 goat including 3 kids
on Mt [mountain] just south of river from
Ranch - These are the first the [Clifford and Nellie]
Murphy's have ever seen here.
Divide Cr. [creek] Cabin - July 8/43 [1943]
Saw a single large [male symbol] at the
mouth of the creek.
Last October [James (Jim)] Simpson saw 40 goat
on hill E. [east] of cabin this was the
first time he had ever seen goat
here.

N.W [northwest] of cabin about 9 P.M.
Indianhead Cabin, Clearwater R. [river] July 10/43 [1943]
On the north face of Mt [mount] Peters saw
14 goat 6 of them kids. One nanny
had twins.
Kills:- Found a predator killed goat
on Peters creek. [Warden Charles] Philips found 2 in the same place previous year.
