beneath + on mucosa of abdomen
Food:- Stomach contents.
50% grass.
50% willow including
shepherdia leaves, dwarf short flower
+ giant catkin
Range:- goat have wintered here
+ are reported to move out in
summer to head of Martin Creek
+ to Dolomite Pass.

[James (Jim)] Simpson counted 28 goat at one
time on the Mt [mountain] E [east] of here. This is
4 more than we saw there yesterday.
Big Flats, Pipestone R [river] July 17/43. [1943]
Goat tracks + wool abundant
up creek east of this camp. Tracks
all of nannies + kids.
Pipestone Cabin July 19/43 [1943]
The E [east] side of the Pipestone from out last
camp down to here is good winter range.
The goat were there in numbers in
September last year after a heavy snowfall.
