Topaz Shelter - Aug. [August] 20/43. [1943]
Followed goat trail over divide to head
of shelter [word crossed out] Sulphur. This trail was an ancient
hard packed highway. In places the rock
was smoothed + polished by the passage
of many hoofs.
Kills:- found part of skull of [female symbol] right
on trail - cause of death unknown.
Brought in skull.
Feeding:- a group of 18 nannys [nannies] + kids were
feeding at 5:30 off [word crossed out] Feeding up hill on grass
etc.
Watched one kid nurse for 30 seconds.
Seen:- Most seen yesterday + again today
but 1 additional large [male symbol] seen today.
Topaz Shelter. Aug. [August] 21/43. [1943]
Found remains of a kid dead a year.
Coyote feces at site.
Blue Creek. Aug. [August] 22/43 [1943]
Three large billys [billies] on hills east of
here - probably same as seen before.
Hoodoo Cr. [creek] Aug [August] 23/43 [1943]
Two goat on slide on N. [north] side of trail
about half way from Blue Creek.
Byng Pass Aug [August] 25/43 [1943]
Plenty of goat hair on the trees along
our camp but at the moment the goats
are not here. There were 3 two miles
down Twintree creek today.
