- May 19 [1930]. Raining hard.
Mrs [Hamilton Mack] Laing [Ethel Hart] + I went fishing
caught 4 trout. In P.M. [afternoon] went
out to Scott ranch area.
+ worked it for Badger sign
No Fresh badger work N.E. [northeast] of Scott
ranch on rolling plains but
quite a bit S.W. [southwest] on wooded
hill.
May 20 [1930].
Rain all day. Mr [Hamilton Mack] Laing
took Muskrat in Smith's
Lakes, I set trap for one.
A gopher had been eaten
out of badger trap in den
from which large [male symbol] was
taken a week or so ago.
May 21 [1930]. Rain in A.M. [morning] - Fine P.M. [afternoon]
Took muskrat in Smiths
Lakes, Mr [Hamilton Mack] Laing took small
[male symbol] Badger 16 3/4 lbs [pounds] in same
den as last one. Lifted all
traps. In P.M. [afternoon] hiked 3 miles
W. [west] + examined Linn place
for badger sign - located
2 dens on hills back of
Kuntzia [underlined] flats. Set 2 traps
