woods. On the way down
we saw a large flock
of Bonaparte Gulls both
with + without black heads
several hundred sand [underlined]
martins [underlined]. A brood of very
small Red head Ducks.
7 Holboell Grebes, 6 Pelicans
and a couple of Water Thrushes
In the woods we found a great
deal of rabbit sign + set
7 snares. I also put out 5
mouse traps + 4 flying
squirrel traps.
There were a great many
Red squirrels in the woods
as many as 7 nests being
seen in a single tree
These nests were all made
of dry grass lined with
shredded bark.
Coyote sign seen. Mr [Kenneth] Racey
tok a young male Redstart
saw a Ruby crowned Kinglet +
3 Marsh Harriers. Mr [Kenneth] Racey
took another of the large
Flycatchers.
July 28 [1931]. The Rabbit snares held
a juvenile + two adult females
These were all taken in the
willows along the Chilcotin
river. The mouse traps in
