- Aug. [August] 1. 1936 Quesnel, B.C. [British Columbia]
Left Ootsa Lake this morning, saw
large porcupine on road between
the lake + Grassy Plains, also
one rabbit.
Had brunch at Vanderhoof
while brakes were being
repaired, made Quesnel by
supper time. Had one
puncture en route.
Aug [August] 2. 1936. Indianpoint Lake, B.C. [British Columbia]
Came in here this morning
58 miles from Quesnel to
turn off for Bear (Bowron)
Lake, 18 miles very poor road
then a 7 mile
tramp of[word crossed out] over
a well marked but very
wet + boggy trail.

The McCabe's house is situated
in a clearing in a section
forrested [forested] with spruce + aspen
in mixed association just
on the north side of Indianpoint
River. This river has somewhat
muskegy borders supporting
in places clumps of green
alder + willow. About
a mile downstream is a
shallow marshy lake
