Monashee Pass B.C. [British Columbia] June 23, 1937 alt [altitude] 4000'
Numerous earthworks seen on flat by old
camp [word crossed out] shack on hill east of camp + quite numerous
on flat below camp on east side of Kettle
Rive. Four traps set.
June 24, 1937 a [female symbol] was caught this am in
a no [number] 0 trap on River flats below camp. #___
A very dark coloured animal, much darker
than the pocket gopher found in the Okanagan
Valley. Many mounds seen + two more
traps set.
June 25/37 [1937]. Another gopher taken in same
place. [illegible word crossed out] a [female symbol]. [Ian McTaggart] Cowan took 2 ad [adult] [male symbol] at foot of rock slide.
June 26/37 [1937]. A [male symbol] taken in same trap that
took the [female symbol] on the 25th. All these dark animals
with grayish coat.
