- June 27, 1936. Penticton. B.C. [British Columbia]
Broke camp this morning
at Okanagan Falls + came
through to Penticton where
we joined forces with
Mr S. J. Darcos [Darcus]. As the car was
still missing badly I took
it in to the Dodge Garage
where they found the trouble.
The spark plugs were original
equipment + very badly worn.
Hunted for young Harlequin,
Canyon Wren + Chat. Darcos [Darcus]
put his car in ditch + we
spent most of the afternoon
extricating it. Could find
no ducks though Darcos [Darcus] says
5 or 6 pairs breed along the
creek west of town.
Lazuli Buntings abundant.
Took a pair of chats on hill
at E [East] side of extreme N. [North] end of
Dog Lake. The cliffs here are
the farthest N. [North] point for
Canyon Wren. House Finches are
nesting in Penticton
June 28. Penticton - Kamloops
Weather fine - roads bad.
Saw little of interest. Left
Penticton at 11:30 - arrived
Kamloops about 5 P.M. Stayed
night with Dr Naysmith.
