- June 30. Mt. [Mount] Revelstoke, B.C. [British Columbia]
Left Canoe at 9 AM, fine
clear day - followed the lake-
edge road to Sicamous
on the way seeing 2
rabbits of which one
was secured, + two
rock rabbits - both taken.
Car still ran hot +
when we finally started
up Mt [Mount] Revelstoke we had
two stop every mile or two
to add water to the
radiator. However we finally
reached the top at 6300
+ made camp in a cabin
there.
July 1. The vegetation here is
largely spruce, balsam +
Mt. [Mountain] Hemlock. Lower down
the hill cedar was
abundant.
The commonest breeding
birds are Hermit Thrush,
+ Fox Sparrows. No Golden
crowned. Chipping sparrows,
Juncos, Mt. [Mountain] Bluebird, Clarke's
Crow (1), Pine Grosbeaks (3),
Siskins, Audubon warbler (2),
Gray Jays (2) Varied thrush
+ Townsend Solitaire Seen.
