Monterey Bay, Albatross
Yoldia vancouverensis EA Smith

1 spec. [specimen] Vancouver Island.
Point of post [posterior] extremity broken off
on both valves.
Cuticle reddish brown, probably
as result of age + treatment. This
was a dead shell on collection
Ht [height] 11.6 l [length] 22.3
Umbo to ant [anterior] 11.5 Left valve
11.2 rt [right] " [valve]
to teeth post [posterior] teeth 14
ant [anterior] " [teeth] 16.
Form of muscle scars as in my
specimen of myalis [underlined]
In my judgement this is myalis [underlined]
without a shadow of a doubt.
Cuticle has the same dull texture
+ lacks the gleam of limatula
Blade not elevated as much as in
my specimen, which is to say there is no
blade. Linule is in my spec [specimen]
This name is available for the Pacific
species if it is distinguishable from
the Atlantic form.
