High south wind shifting to east
by early afternoon. Clear + bright.
Lemming traps held 5 ad [adult] 2 young
Lemmus [underlined] in 22 traps also a juv. [juvenile]
Dicrostonyx [underlined] in the valley bottom.
Caught + tagged 3 rats, killed
another as a specimen because of
leg injuries.
Took 6 large + 3 smaller Pika.

Went out onto barrens in A.M. [morning]
After lunch crossed the river and
lifted our net + worked #3 lake for
rat burrows also examined eagles
nest on lake.
In evening performed autopsies
on rats taken previously.
