36 mi [miles] S. [south] of Aklavik, NWT. [Northwest Territories] Aug [August] 13/47 [1947]
took an old male mink in one of
the line traps set in a muskrat
burrow known to contain very
small young. Mink's stomach
empty. Subsequent work revealed
that rats had not deserted the
burrow but they walled off
the tunnels near which the
mink was caught.
The small intestine of this animal
contained 25 tapeworms of 4" [inches] to 6" [inches]
total length.
No identifiable food material
in the digestive tract.
