Left Blunden Hbr [Harbour] about noon in
bright sun - the first of the trip, +
had a good sail down Q.C. [Queen Charlotte] Strait.
wind S.E. [southeast] 20 gusting to 30 [knots]. We made
slow headway beating but arrived
in this anchorage about 1700 hrs [hours].
Napier Bay ha at the extremity of
Tracy Hbr [Harbour] at the N.W. [northwest] end of N. [north]
Broughton. A narrow shallow channel
receiving several streams. Max [maximum] depth
10-11 fath [fathoms]. Water brown + murky.
Birds: En route 25-30 Rhino [Rhinoceros] auklets
2 Marbled murrelets
5-6 Pigeon guillemots
several unid [unidentified] gulls
1 Ring-billed gull
In Napier Bay
Song Sparrows. 20 [+/-] Surf scoters 1 [female symbol]
Russet-b[backed]-thrush
Varied thrush
Chesnut-b[backed] Chickadee
Robin
Crows
5 least sandpipers
Kingfisher
a pair of eagles behaving as if they
had a nest.
No signs of mammal life.
