Found 2 dead downies without
any obvious signs of cause of
death.
Broods seen to date listed in Journal.
Aug [August] 19/48 [1948]. Rush Lake
Some of the young are now
flying but the majority still
flightless. Some even have flecks
of down + some white down
on the sides of the face
The young are easily separable
from the ad. [adult] [female symbol]'s by eye color,
brown instead of yellow.
I do not recall the color of
yearling [male symbol]'s but it seems to
me that it was greenish.
Checked today + found yearling [male symbol]'s
have either greenish or brownish eyes.
