June 13. Island. Little Anahim - nest well hidden in Ribes
contained 5 eggs.
June 15 Island nest has 7 eggs
June 16 Alkali flats - [male symbol] chasing a pr [pair] - territorial defense
June 17. Nest #14 - O.K [okay] with 10 eggs, but not covered + eggs
cool.
June 22 nest #14 - 9 eggs - [female symbol] flushed
June 27. nest #4 - 5 uncovered eggs - deserted

June 28 Abuntlet Islands: nest of 9 eggs.
July 2. nest #4 - 5 uncovered, deserted eggs. One
egg opened was rotten, with a one (?) week
embryo
July 5. A downy, one of a brood, seen on river near
Anahim P.O. [Post Office]
A brood of 6 day old yg. [young] near camp.
A [male symbol] + [female symbol], to-gether on loating [floating] log in river
July 6. The brood near camp has 7 downies.
July 8 flock of 40 [male symbol] + 1 pr [pair] in Anahim.
July 9. Abuntlet island (see June 28) nest hatched
new nest of 8 eggs (may previously been noted as
mallard)
July 13. On Little Anahim, two [female symbol]'s with broods, one with 7 lg. [large] dy [downies],
the other with 5 same age. The former had at least
