- Translated transcription: Óðinn, who has heard Vébjörg‘s threat to Starkaðr, pays a visit to her home one evening, disguised as a wandering wizard and sacrificial priest. He finds an opportunity to speak to the young girl and gives her good advice on how, by nurturing her courage and fighting prowess, she can make herself capable of the revenge she so greatly wishes and, which he assures her, Alfaðir himself must support.
Vébjörg thanks him and promises to follow his good advice.
She decides to acquire, through the dangers and trials of hunting, proficiency in everything which can serve her purpose.
