The men call to one another from ship to ship, sounding hoarsely threatening to Vébjörg who sees that all the ships are heading east, towards the grey day’s light of pending misfortune.
Steadily towards the east the breakers roll.
Steadily towards the east the storm birds fly. Steadily their number grows, as do their wild cries, piercing through the storm.
