  • 40 Heard Evening Grosbeaks, saw [male symbol] Tanager + 4 Cedar Waxwings, Crows abundant + noisy. Heard 4 Coyotes + saw some moose sign. July 3/36 [1936] 10 Mile Lake. Took [male symbol] magnolia, yng [young] [male symbol] Redstart + a Black capped Chickadee. Thrush here are all Hermits. Heard a Traills Flycatcher by the river. July 4/36 [1936] 10 mile Lake. Thunder + rain off + on. Saw a brood of young Chipping Sparrows, Magillivray [MacGillivray] warbler. Put up a brood of 5 snipe, 1 Killdeer, 6 B.C. [Black-capped] chickadees, 3 Redwings old mallard with 7 or 8 young. July 5/36. [1936] Slight rain - mostly warm mosquitos bad. Took Warbling vireo, [male symbol] + [female symbol] magnolias, Junco + 2 hermit thrush. Our one ruffed grouse is sill drumming. young crows + thrush are just out of nest, also R.cr. [Ruby crowned] kinglets Have seen no Calliope Hummers [Hummingbirds] or Sapsuckers, both were common 4 years ago.
