July 6/36. [1936] 10 mile Lake, Quesnel.
Hunted South shore of lake in morning.
S. [south] end is bulrushes, then sedges, then
a belt of willows 20-25 ft [feet] high + 1.5
yards broad, back of this a piece of
semi cleared land + the cottonwood-
aspen-fir-spruce
At the N [north] end is a short bit
of gravel beach where a pair
of spotted Sandpipers have their nest.
There are some swallows - violet
green I think - + cliff swallows.
July 7/36. [1936] Still raining.
Hunted S [south] end again getting [female symbol]
ruffed grouse, water thrush + young, [underlined]
Brewer Blackbird + [female symbol] Redwing.
Several pine siskins, crossbills
+ 2 evening grosbeaks flew over camp.
Gambel's Sparrow uncommon.
Mt [Mountain] Bluebirds feeding young.
Heard another Tennessee Warbler
+ found a Junco's nest [underlined] with
4 eggs. [underlined
July 8/36. Took ad [adult] Chipping Sparrow,
saw Macgillivray warblers, [underlined] Horned
Owl + Cooper's Hawk.
