I. McT. [Ian McTaggart] Cowan.
Left car at 10:15 beautiful sunshiney day,
after a weeks rain + snow, no snow
on ground, no wind at first, slight
westerly arose at 11:15.
Census On western half section of sec. [section] 107,
saw 12 deer of which 3 were
last years fawns, 3 were bucks
of 2 years or over, the remaining
six were does with possibly a
spike buck among them
Antlers. All bucks were without antlers
but could be readily identified
by their build + contrasting face
color. [F.P.] Wier reports antlers shed
early in January.
