Pests + diseases:
Mr [B.] Simpson reports old
doe last winter coughed
violently while eating something
this resulted in vomiting. I
believe she had had throat
fly infection.
Spike buck on Mr [B.] Simpson's
has large (1") smooth coated
tumor, dark in color on
dorsum over kidney region.
He reports others of his deer
have had warty growths,
always small, that ultimately
dropped off.
Tabinids [Tabanids] + Chrysops are a
serious pest + often stampede
the deer into dense shade
where they are less troublesome.
