this pigmentation in normally
unpigmented areas is a
characteristic of the disease
process.
There was no destruction of
tissue beneath the dermis, though
the pigmentation was marked in
the conn. [connective] tissue + fat overlying the
skull but not in the skull
itself

appeared to be the onset of a tumor
