  • Glaucous-winged Gull. Spider Island. July 3, 1939. 30 to 40 pairs breeding on a rocky, grass grown islet at the entrance of Kildit Arm on Hunter Island. Kwakshua, Calvert Island, B.C. [British Columbia] July 15, 1939. Several adults spend the greater part of the day on the rocks near the cabin. While no young are with them, they give the characteristic mewing call used by the adults when with the young.
